Architecture, interiors
and the way we live.
Ziad El Khoury is a Lebanese architect and co-founder of WELD Architecture.
He founded WELD with Laura Salloum El Khoury in 2010. Based in Elyssar, Lebanon, the studio brings architecture, interior design and project delivery into one collaborative practice, working in Lebanon and abroad.
Ziad combines architectural practice with teaching at Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) and the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK). He is also CEO of HK Design, connecting his architectural work with interiors and furniture.
Practice
From the site to the interior.
Through WELD, Ziad works within a team whose projects span residential architecture, hospitality interiors, community spaces and mixed-use destinations. The studio’s approach considers the setting, movement, daylight and material choices together, connecting the overall building with the spaces people use every day.
Architecture and interiors are developed in dialogue with clients, consultants and contractors. WELD’s services include design, consultancy, project management and site follow-up, with scope defined for each appointment.

Teaching & practice
Architecture as an ongoing conversation.
Alongside professional practice, Ziad teaches at USJ and USEK. His work across education, architecture and furniture brings together different scales of thinking: the building, the room and the objects within it.
