On 11 June 2026, the Salon des Anciens at ESIB–USJ was inaugurated at the Campus des sciences et technologies of Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth in Mar Roukos. The occasion marked a new chapter for the alumni space designed by WELD Architecture, following the project’s launch on 16 May 2024.
An institutional milestone
The official invitation was issued by Prof. François Boëdec s.j., Rector of Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth, and Prof. Wassim Raphaël, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. The ceremony was announced for Thursday 11 June 2026 at 17:30, combining the inauguration of the Salon des Anciens with the launch of ESIB’s new logo.
The programme also announced a reception and the distribution of the fifth issue of ESIB’s annual magazine, eXcellence.
A place for the alumni community
Conceived as a setting for conversation, informal meetings and shared occasions, the Salon des Anciens combines lounge seating, a bar and meeting spaces. The project brings an interior design approach to a space whose purpose is to sustain connections between graduates and their university.
WELD at the inauguration
WELD Architecture co-founders Ziad El Khoury and Laura Salloum El Khoury attended the inauguration. The event photographs record this milestone, from the auditorium gathering to moments inside the alumni lounge.
